Duties and Responsibilities:
Scope of Responsibility includes but is not limited to:Accounts Payable
• Process high volumes of invoices accurately and efficiently.
• 3-way match of PO, Proof of Delivery (POD), and Invoices to ensure only valid invoices are paid.
• Prepare for ‘Cheque run’ to ensure timely payment (cheques, electronic, and wire transfers).
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies and aging reports in a timely manner.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive relationships.
• Create and maintain vendor profiles and ensure compliance with internal controls and policies.
• Collaborate with other team members to meet weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting timelines
• Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive relationships and accurate records.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Reconciliation of some general ledger accounts related to AP
• Support monitoring and clearing of Suspense accounts
• Participate in fraud monitoring and internal control processes
Compliance & Audit support
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations
• Assist in documentation and process improvement initiatives
• Support preparation for annual audit with KPMG
Team Collaboration
• Provide support and training to team members as needed
• Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives
• Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment
Qualifications:
• Post-secondary education in Accounting or related field required• Relevant accounting experience required; retail experience is an asset
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Office 365)
• Ability to process and analyze large volumes of numerical data
• Strong organizational and administrative skills
• Experience in reporting, analysis, and reconciliation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional, approachable, and team-oriented
