What grew into a vertically integrated group of production, processing and retail companies started small on their family farm, raising superior hogs in Acme, Alberta. The Price’s commitment to family values, farm to fork operations and community loyalty allowed Sunterra Market to become what it is today. And the name? It was born from the very things that helped cultivate their business — the sun and the earth. 

Today, Sunterra is run by the Price children, grandchildren and the family of 1000+ team members who continue the legacy of innovation and quality.

Our eight market locations across Alberta are only one chapter of the Sunterra story. With a unique vertical integration structure, we are able to control every aspect of what we do. All the pork you’ll find in our meat departments, chef prepared meals and more is from our very own Sunterra Farms. It is processed at Sunterra Meats where we use the highest standard food safety and processing techniques to deliver meat of superior quality. The pork is then sold fresh and delivered to Soleterra d’Italia to be crafted into hams, salamis and cured meats. 

We have also strengthened our roots in agriculture by growing fresh, ripe-picked produce at Sunterra Greenhouse. You’ll find strawberries and tomatoes from Sunterra Greenhouse as well as Sunterra Farms pork and Soleterra d’Italia meats on Sunterra Market shelves across the province — but the story doesn’t end there. Our talented market team members turn all these products and more into fresh, wholesome meal offerings for you to take home to your family or enjoy in-market.
