Retail Accounts Receivable & Support - Head Office - Calgary

Sunterra Retail office team members work day to day to support the busy operations in our stores. The Accounting and Finance team works closely with each other and cross departmentally on several initiatives including full cycle accounting, reconciliations, customer service and loyalty programs. Strong teamwork skills and a passion for food and service are required!
For the Retail Accounting Assistant role, we are looking for a candidate that takes pride in their professionalism, their ability to multi-task, and are excited to take on a variety of responsibilities within the accounting and finance department. This role will provide a wide range of accounting and administration experience, with lots of opportunity for growth!
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist in a range of accounting routines and general administrative duties as needed, including full holiday coverage for various roles in the department.
• Day-to-day communication with the Retail Office, Stores, and General Public
• Back up Reception and Phone coverage as part of Retail office Accounting team
• Work closely with the accounting team and manager
• Inventory management, including reconciliation of monthly operations inventory
• Team project work and support on new PO system
• Accounts Receivable administration, including but not limited to;
- Reports and reconciliations
- Daily cheque deposits
- Customer account statement generations and distribution
- Ownership of customer account maintenance and payment processing
• Accounts Payable administration, including but not limited to;
- Reports and reconciliations
- Cross training and holiday coverage
- Scanning, file management, additional admin and project support as needed
Qualifications:
• Flexibility within the role and ability to multi-task is a must!
• Required availability: Monday-Friday 8:00am–5:00pm
• Strong organizational and administrative skills
• Reporting, analysis, reconciliation experience preferred but not required
• Professional and approachable, positive and outgoing
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, Office 365)
• Excellent communication skills
• Willingness to work as a part of a team, across a variety of initiatives
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately
• Some Post Secondary education and/or relevant experience are considered a strong asset
